2012 “See Spot Run” Dog Park Tags now available

The Town of LaGrange has an Off Leash Area called “See Spot Run”  located at Overlook Park.  The Dog Park is open to LaGrange residents and residents of  bordering towns (Town of Poughkeepsie, Pleasant Valley, Union Vale, Beekman, East Fishkill and Wappinger).

To enter the “See Spot Run” Off Leash Area your dog must have a tag, 2012 tags are now available at the Recreation Office, in the Town Hall. To obtain a dog tag we will need a copy of your Dog License, front and side photos of your dog and the fee (checks or cash only).  Please see the application form for fees and other information on the Park and Rec page of the Town of LaGrange website.

Blood Drive – Thursday, December 29, 2011 – 2:00pm to 6:00pm

New York Blood Center will be holding a blood drive at the Town of LaGrange Town Hall on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.

LaGrange Tree Lighting Program

Mark your calendar for the Annual Tree Lighting Program on Saturday, December 3rd starting at 4:15pm at the LaGrange Town Hall.

Enjoy the Arlington High School Holiday Brass Band, hot chocolate and cookies by the LaGrange Ladies Auxiliary and wait for Santa Claus to arrive on a LaGrange Fire Truck. Homemade ornaments will be hung on the tree by local Scouts. We hope to see you there!

Court Improvement Grant Funds Court Office Updates

Construction is underway in the Court offices thanks to a NYS Office of Court Administration grant. Contrary to an INCORRECT quote in the Poughkeepsie Journal attributed to a town resident, there are NO renovations taking place in the Supervisor’s or Comptroller’s office.

LaGrange once again applied for and received grant funding for court improvements. The grant is funding both an expansion of the existing Court Clerk’s and an enhancement of security. The Court Clerks will be able to operate in a more secure environment after the improvements, including handling fines through a secure “Teller like” window.

Temporary Court offices have been set up in the Town Clerk’s Office thanks to Town Clerk Christine O ‘Reily-Rao. There should be no disruption in services.

The grant funded work should be complete within 2 weeks
